What is vaginal cancer?
When cancer starts in the vagina, it is called vaginal cancer. The vagina, also called the birth canal, is the hollow, tubelike channel between the bottom of the uterus and the outside of the body.
When vaginal cancer is found early, treatment is most effective.
Who gets vaginal cancer?
While vaginal cancer is very rare, all women are at risk. Each year, approximately 8,870 new cases will be diagnosed in the United States .
